Jacob's Carnival Party

My baby turned 8 yesterday! I can't believe it. Time is flying by so fast! I decided to do a blow out this year since it may be his last "kiddie" b-day party. They seem to want more $cash$ than they do parties the older they get! We had a blast, it turned out to be a really fun time and the kids all seemed to enjoy it.
First the kids entered through our gate and went to a ticket booth to get tickets and a goody bag which they decorated with markers and wrote their name on.

Then they used their tickets for games where they won prizes to fill the goody bags. There was also face painting that was purchased with tickets.

Carrie and Megan were painting hearts on the cheeks of the ladies who agreed to it . They would put the initial of that persons MAN inside the heart.

We had a concession stand where food items could be purchased with tickets. There was cotton candy, popcorn, sno cones, hot dogs, and drinks. I had rented the machines from a local party store. They were a huge hit. The cotton candy machine decided to quit on us just a short time into the party. We were all really bummed about that. I figured that I at least got some good pics for my blog and scrapbook so the fact that there was a shortage of sugar for the kids to consume wasn't that terrible.

And as if that wasn't enough sugar, I made cupcakes to look like mini popcorn bags. I got the liners from a company that I found on Ebay. I made white cupcakes with white icing, then I took mini marshmallows that were cut in half and colored with food coloring and put them on top of the cupcake. Some of the kids didn't want to eat them because they thought it really was popcorn on top!!

Finally, we ended the night with lots of great gifts from all of Jacob's awesome friends!

I guess this will have to be the last of the big parties because this was A LOT of work and I am not sure I want to try to top this one! I do want to say thanks to all of my totally awesome family and friends who helped me make this party a success! I also want to thank my producer, my record label , my fans......OOPS! I think I started day dreaming!! J.K.!!

Twilight Character Quiz

It took a while for me to get started reading the Twilight books. I had no idea how addictive they would be. I ended up reading all 4 books within about 3 weeks. Thank goodness for Jess's football practice, I have about 9 hours a week to just sit and read! Anyway, I found this quiz while Blog surfing and it turns out that I am Alice Cullen...who knew!!

Car Wash...

The kids are out of school this week for fall break and we haven't done much of anything fun with my finals and all. So, my boys decided to make their own fun by cleaning out and then washing the Expedition. I was excited about this, of course, since it is one of the chores that I dread the most!
I figured I would capture the evidence when a small "fight" broke out right before my eyes.

I LOVE these boys!!! They certainly keep my life full of excitement!

FINALS!!!!

Appalachian Tech

As many of you know, I started college in the spring. I am in the Interior Design program. (For all of you Napoleon Dynamite fans, my kids like to tell each other,"Your mom goes to college!") This past week has been crazy, I had 3 final projects due on Friday on top of the regular reading and chapter assignments. I only go to one class, the other 2 classes are online. I did have to give a presentation in class on Friday. I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown in class before I got up. I finally volunteered so that I could get my blood pressure down, I was sure my heart was going to bust out of my chest!! The project itself was really fun to do. We have spent the quarter designing a health spa from the year 2020, with no budget might I add since it was all in our heads!! We had to gather samples and create orders for our materials and present a "Plan in a Can". My instructor had given us paint cans which we had to decorate and fill with all of our goodies. You know I scrapbooked my can! I meant to take a pic before I turned it in but I completely forgot. I'll post one when I get it back in a few weeks. I have to take 3 finals online this week, so maybe I can get back to real life after Wednesday!

Grandma's House

Last Sunday we went to my Grandma's house for a big family dinner. We had a great time visiting with our extended family that we don't get to see very often. When we have these "get togethers" there is always a long photo shoot. The kids are only good for a few shots, and as you will see, my brother started crossing his eyes after only one good pic.
I am glad that we were able to spend time with all of these awesome, hilarious, beautiful people because after everything else, family is the most important.

Casey really enjoyed getting to hold baby Will...

Jacob's First Game

Michael took Jacob to his first GA Bulldog game last weekend. He was so excited. As you can see, he got all decked out in his GA attire and then we added the tattoos to enhance the look. When our friend Jimmy came to pick up the guys, his 4 year old daughter jumped out of the car. She was in her GA cheerleading uniform with tats on both cheeks! She was sooo darn cute! I can just imagine Mike and Jimmy walking through that place with their two little cuties!! Of course GA did win the game, but Jake said "The best part was getting to see Uga (the dog) with MY own eyes!"

Ready to go...

My little fan....

Jimmy's Expedition-all ready to go!!
There were magnets down the other side, too!

By request...

Okay, so it only took a couple of weeks but here is the requested close up of Jess. Hope you enjoy it,T.R. (He took this pic of himself, of course!)
